This simple guide will help you engage with Scripture and grow in your relationship with God.

Scripture: Begin by reading a passage of Scripture and write down a verse or two that stand out to you.

Observation: Reflect on what the passage is saying and note any important ideas or themes.

Application: Think about how this verse can apply to your life and what actions you might take because of it.

Prayer: End with a prayer, asking God to help you understand and live out what you’ve learned.

Romans 6

Romans 6 addresses the believer's relationship to sin, illustrating that through baptism into Christ's death, we are dead to sin and alive to God. Paul encourages believers to live in the freedom of grace, not as slaves to sin, but as instruments of righteousness. This chapter challenges us to consider our identity in Christ and the implications of being united with Him in His death and resurrection. Paul also addresses the question of whether grace gives us a license to sin, emphatically stating that we are called to live in righteousness. As you study this chapter, reflect on how you can live out your new identity in Christ.
